When staying local, businesses can find it challenging to recruit talent that’s needed to grow. This is a huge issue many firms face. Some firms have started moving to a virtual model, looking outside their local area, to recruit the right person for the job no matter where they are located.

Moving to a Virtual Model
Oftentimes you don’t have control over who is available in your local market. Originally Ignite Spot’s office was based out of Salt Lake City, which is a large metropolitan area. About seven years ago, Ignite Spot’s offices moved further north into an area that had more of a small town feel. This enabled most of the staff members to be closer to home.
Unfortunately, this also limited Ignite Spot’s ability to find the right people for new positions. Many that didn’t live in the area would have had a 45 minute or more commute, which didn’t go over well with those interviewing for positions within the company.
By switching over to a more virtual-based company, Ignite Spot was able to reach out to people who lived in other areas where there may not be a lot of job opportunities. They also found many educated people who wanted a flexible lifestyle and who liked the idea of not having to commute into the office every day. Ignite Spot found this to be an excellent benefit for many of the new employees.
Tripling the Business
While Ignite Spot’s management team has tripled their business many times already, their goal today is to triple the business again within the next five years. This is a big challenge for the Ignite Spot team.
Ignite Spot feels the number one thing they need to do to meet their goal is to understand what is going on with outsourced accounting. Competition is more fierce today than ever. Ignite Spot knows they must stay ahead of the competition. By understanding automation and employing quality people, they feel they can accomplish their goal.
Creating efficiencies and looking at how to better the product they provide is essential to their success and the ability to grow. They are building more integrations and driving more value for their clients.
Over the past few months, Ignite Spot has seen some really great success that they will continue to focus on over the next five years.
